Whereabouts

The Athlete Whereabouts Programme

The Athlete Whereabouts Programme applies to athletes assigned to a testing pool by us (DFSNZ) or their International Federation (IF). These athletes need to provide and maintain whereabouts information so that they can be found for out-of-competition testing at any time. The whereabouts programme allows us to perform regular out-of-competition testing on athletes and this helps reduce or eliminate doping from sport.

When athletes are added to a testing pool, they will be informed by ourselves or their IF and given all the relevant information about their whereabouts responsibilities.

File your whereabouts each quarter

All athletes need to file whereabouts information before the start of each quarter and regularly update that information if and when plans change.

  • First quarter: 1 July – 30 September
  • Second quarter: 1 October – 31 December
  • Third quarter: 1 January – 31 March
  • Fourth quarter: 1 April – 30 June
